In June of 1997 Jeannie was killed & for 12 years her murder had been an unsolved crime for the Goodyear Az. Police Dept.. With the advances in the D.N.A. & forensics testing in May of 2009, an arrest was made for her murder.
She left behind 2 children, daughter Antoinette & son Jessie, father & stepmother Johnny & Shari Contreras,step-mother Cynthia Contreras, sisters Gina,Anna,Desiree & Arista, brothers Isidro &Johnny Jr. as well as many family & friends.
Her son & little sisters (Arista & Des) loved her & have missed her greatly. Her daughter, Antoinette, lived in California & Jeannie was not able to see her as much as she wished. But with much pride,she would talk of her often and the love she had for her.
There's no way you ever "get over" having someone you loved be murdered. After the past 12 years of "living" without her, the news that an arrest was made has made the feelings & emotions of her absence felt again.
She was cremated & her ashes were give to her father.

I'm so lonely without you. I can still remember how you smell, ur laughter ,ur tenderness,I admired how much you loved ur kids considering the circumstances ur eyes would light up. I knew you were so in love with them. And when we would have heart to heart talks you would light up for me to and my heart so finally elated to have found you after all those years. PHOENIX — An ex-convict accused of killing a Glendale woman in 1997 and dumping her body has been acquitted of first-degree murder.
A Maricopa County Superior Court jury returned the verdict Tuesday in the retrial of 43-year-old Alfredo Garcia Paez.
Paez's first trial ended in a mistrial June 24 when jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
Paez was arrested last year after DNA linked him to the slaying of 24-year-old Avelina Contreras, who was stabbed, strangled and dumped in a ditch in Goodyear.
Contreras' body was found on June 8, 1997. Police say she had been dead for about two days and was killed elsewhere.
The Arizona Republic says Paez is a Mexican resident who was arrested in the case in May 2009.___
